You Are What You Think

I used to believe in Murphy’s Law, "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong." Then one day I read a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not." This quote made me stop and think of its true meaning and once I understood it, my life changed for the better. I discovered that even if I was living in my ultimate dream world, I would not enjoy it because I did not carry the dream within myself. I realized that I would not be happy NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES because what was within me did not match what was outside of me. As I learned about carrying the beauty within me; instead of the fear that after something good would happen in my life it would be followed by something bad; after all, we live in a world of duality. The ying and the yang. Things have to balance out, right? I came across a book written by Napoleon Hill, The Laws of Success. It spoke of the law of attraction. The law of attraction suggests that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes. You determine what that success means to you.

If you are experiencing negativity in your life, start taking a look within yourself. What are you thinking? How are you reacting to what happens to you? There is good in everything. When we search for the good we will find it. We are here on Earth to learn. Earth is our school. Whenever certain circumstances come into my life I ask myself what I am supposed to be learning? For until I learn what I am supposed to, it will keep happening to me each time getting more intense until I figure it out. This is how we grow as a human being as well as spiritually. This is how we Become.

Martin Luther King Jr. stated that. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." We have been given free will. The will to choose. You can choose to give into the fear that dwells within yourself or you can choose to focus on inner peace.

Negative thinking can block our energy flow causing our body/mind/spirit to become unbalanced. When we are out of balance, not at peace within, then our body starts to send us warning signals. If we do not listen to these signals, then chronic dis-ease will eventually develop. Luckily, once you become aware of where you feel out of balance in your body/mind/spirit, then you can work on balancing it. Since we are in this world balancing our body/mind/spirit complex is a daily journey. This can be done in several ways:

  • Meditation/Mindfulness

  • Breathing

  • Exercise

  • Music/Sound

  • Eating Healthy

  • Grounding/Walking outside/Being nature

To keep my body/mind/spirit healthy I work on balancing my chakras daily. Chakras are points of energy located throughout our body. They help to regulate all its processes, from organ function to the immune system; as well as our emotions. There are seven main chakras positioned throughout our bodies, from the base of our spine to the crown of our head. Just as your energy flow is affected by different external forces such as being stressed out or not sleeping well, chakras can also be affected by things such as lifestyle habits and emotions. This is because chakras are combined with the mental, emotional and spiritual parts of your body.

Chakras and Their Effects on the Body

Where do you feel out of balance?

We can choose to see the good or we can choose to see the bad. What we choose is what our reality becomes. Choose your thoughts wisely.
