FD&C Yellow No. 5 & No. 6:
YELLOW 6: Artificial coloring in Beverages, sausage, baked goods, candy, gelatin. Industry-
sponsored animal tests indicated that this dye, the third most widely used, causes tumors of
the adrenal gland and kidney. In addition, small amounts of several carcinogens
contaminate Yellow 6 May also cause occasional allergic reactions.
YELLOW 5: Artificial coloring in Gelatin dessert, candy, pet food, baked goods. Causes mild
allergic reactions, primarily in aspirin-sensitive persons.
ferric orthophosphate: Ferric is a form of iron. It is certified for use in drinking water treatment by the National Sanitation Foundation, and is used widely as a food acidifier in soft drinks. Is commonly used as a "corrosion inhibitor," which when added to finished drinking water will form a protective coating on the inside of service lines and household plumbing reducing lead leaching into drinking water.
